I wanted to keep the story very abstract, which is why the objective of the game is to 'restore the light'.
I created a very gloomy, mystical environment by using purple colors and adding glowing elements to the game.
Programming in C# was completely new to me, but I accepted the challenge and learned a lot doing so.
Everglow is a game that is entirely designed and developed by myself. It tells the story of an extraterrestial being that is made up purely out of light. It lives on a planet which core is also made up out of light. One day a dark entity comes across this planet and destroy its core, which is shattered into tiny little light shards.
You are playing the extraterrestial being, which is essentially a ball of light. Your objective is to retrieve all the light shards and restore your planets core before it is too late. On the way you will encouter some enemies that fight in the name of the darkness, it is up to you to pass these enemies without getting hurt.
I built this game in Unity. It was the first time I ever used Unity and it was a lot of work to create this end product, but I learned a lot and would certainly like to do it again.
