Before I created the final artworks, I looked up a lot of reference pictures to make my concept more convincing.
I kept the base for all three infographics the same to achieve the consistent look that the assignment called for.
This was my first shot at realistic looking creature designs. I learned a lot about using textures in Photoshop.
Digital Design was a class in my first year as an Art and Technology student. The assignment was to take two existing animals and combine them to make an imaginary species. In this case I took the tucan and the chameleon as animals to start from. We had to make three different variations to our imaginary species.
I have always been into concept art and creature design, so I wanted to take this assignment to the next level. We were free to choose the style in which to draw our imaginary species. I tried to make them look as real as possible. I used all kinds of brushes and textures in Photoshop to create the images.
Lastly, we had to design an infographic about our imaginary species. We had to create a background story to add to our design and make the whole look consistent and professional. Consistency was key for this assignment.
